Since 1970, we have raised Shiba Inu dogs in Kyoto and learned from every life in our care.
They taught us that true kindness is not simply about the present. It means thinking about a dog’s health and happiness five or ten years into the future.
By observing the smallest changes in their coats, expressions, movement, and daily lives, we have built knowledge grounded in real experience.

Founded in 1970, Kyoto Daigo Kensha has dedicated more than half a century to preserving and raising exceptional Shiba Inu bloodlines as a specialist breeder of native Japanese dogs.
Our role goes beyond simply placing puppies with new families. We strive to understand and protect the Shiba Inu’s natural beauty, temperament, and health, while helping each dog and family share a happy life together.

With more than 55 years of experience as breeders, we have learned that a dog’s natural beauty and long-term health are deeply shaped by the quality of its daily diet.
At the time, it was difficult to find food created with a genuine understanding of dogs’ needs. This inspired us to develop the kind of dog food we truly wanted to feed our own dogs.
We first shared it with fellow breeders and dog-show enthusiasts. As demand grew from across Japan, we launched Native Dog as an online business in 2004.
Today, from our home in Kyoto, we continue to provide thoughtfully made products to dog owners throughout Japan, while welcoming inquiries from overseas.

With 55+ years of breeding experience, we know a dog’s beauty and long-term health depend on daily diet. Finding food that truly understood dogs’ needs was difficult, inspiring us to develop our own. First shared with fellow breeders, Native Dog launched online in 2004. Today, from Kyoto, we continue to deliver thoughtfully made nutrition to dog owners throughout Japan and worldwide.
